Instant Gratification

Instant Gratification is my weekly posting of instagram and cell phone photos taken during the last year. Whatever catches my fancy is what gets put in the post. Once I get caught up on the year’s activities, I will change it up and start using the Instant Gratification postings as a weekly visual diary.

Comings and Going

Because of my schedule, I often get to see the sun coming up in the morning as I come in to work and watch the sun set as I go home at night. Every now and then, the light intrigues me or there is an especially cool cloud formation or the colors are pretty enough for me to try to capture with the camera in my cell phone. Sometimes the photos work – sometimes they don’t.

Comings

In the parking lot. There are just a few cars at the church where I park, while overhead the crescent moon is still bright. The sky is beginning to lighten a little. It sort of reminds me of an Edward Hopper painting and a bit lonely.

Trying to take pictures of the sun coming up around the downtown buildings.

Goings

The warm setting sun shining on the old church where I park my car. The church rents out parking space during the week to those of us who work downtown.

I thought the clouds looked interesting so I took a blurry shot on the way home.

I just had to capture the bright clouds reflecting the setting sun before heading home.

    Nice shots!

  2. I like them all; the moon picture is my favorite.

  3. These are just lovely, Jill. The light on that church really is inspiring and I’m a sucker for sunsets. You did a nice job with the moon — it’s hard to shoot when it’s dark. Very nice!

I’m such a sucker for sunset shots, and often find random places to pull over my car when they happen. Why must power lines be so often placed in front of the sunset? Ha ha!
