A Week in the Life of a Tree

November 8: While coming into work, I noticed that the ornamental fruit trees finally decided to show their color. It seems really late in the season to me.

One little tree, which has the most lovely double blooms in the spring turned color last week and immediately began dropping leaves, without letting those passing by have a chance to enjoy the variegated color.

 In Spring

I picked these for pressing on the first day I noticed the tree had changed color on November 3.

We had a lot of weather changes this week; from sunny and warm, to windy and wet and finally snow. I checked on the little tree to watch the changes throughout the week. The photos are small, but you can get them to the full size if you click on them.

All in one week the tree’s autumn colors peaked and and then they fell, without giving us enough time to appreciate their color..

  1. It really did seem to go by very quickly. I love the documentation of the week in the life of the tree.
