Never FELT Better

p2100273  With a little bit felt, embroidery thread, glue, buttons, ribbon and a lot of pleasant company, I spent an evening at the library last week doing what I like most: crafting.

The workshop leader, Jessica, gave some instruction in making handmade felt brooches and bookmarks, then gave us the freedom to build on the basics to make our own creations. Each item reflected the individual that made it.

Though the crafting in itself was fun, I think I enjoyed meeting the other participants even more. The class of about 15, represented a wide variety of ages and crafting skills. It didn’t matter. We talked, we laughed, we all had a great time and made plans to meet at the next craft workshop.

Next month’s workshop will be held on Thursday, March 5 at 6:30pm. The workshop is called Craft Couture: Spin a Yarn and Jessica will show us all how to make a handmade scarf – without sewing or knitting. Jessica refuses to reveal how it will be done.

I can’t wait to find out.
