Dog Days – I can’t believe that it’s been 2 weeks since my last entry. I promised myself to be sure to write at least once a week. I’m not devoted enough to write every single day like some folks. Mea culpa. I have difficulty getting up the energy when it gets up to 90 degrees. I have no air conditioner and I am beginning to regret it this year.
In the past, it might get up to 90 for one week during June or July, then stay in the 80’s the rest of the time. This summer has been too hot for too long. Now we are at the halfway mark in August, when the days should only get up to 84 degrees and the nights are in the 60’s. We should be getting more rain as well.
This is the time of year when I dig up and plant green and growing things, but we are still too dry. I need to transplant a forsythia bush and I want to put in fencing in the back and side yard and put in a new garden in front.
I just looked at the weather forcast for this week. Yea! It looks like rain and cooler temps – just like August should be. I have outdoor work plans this weekend, so hopefully it won’t be too cold and wet.
